Inspired by his two-year old son, J.D. Hillberry created the following trompe l’oeil drawing. It features an impossible scenario of his son putting together a puzzle that is actually himself.

Hillberry remarks that:
At this age, he was just beginning to learn about himself and what the world has to offer. I believe that this self-exploration and development continues throughout our lives in our quest to make ourselves whole.

YES and NO coexist in this sculpture by Markus Raetz. When viewed from one angle, the word YES can be seen. Moving to a different vantage point reveals that the word NO is also present. Can you see how the letters E and S form the letter O when viewed at an alternate angle?

The strange green creature below is showing off his gymnastic skills on the parallel bars. But are these bars really parallel? Does he get a higher score for the extra degree of difficulty?

Spanish professor Vicente Meavilla created this composition. Meavilla uses felt-tip pens to color many of his drawings.

Located in the center of the Belgian village of Ophoven is the following sculpture of an impossible triangle. The sculpture is made from wood and finished with polyester. The triangle only appears to be “impossible” when viewing it from a specific angle. The photograph on the right shows how it looks when viewed from other angles.

This sculpture was created by Mathieu Hamakers.
